# Trips Analytics

## Analyse how driving trips perform across markets over time and space.

**Trips Analytics** helps you understand how markets are performing based on driving trips, providing insight into where people are travelling and how that movement changes over time.

It combines two complementary views at a market level: a spatial map view and a time series graph, allowing you to compare markets and identify patterns in movement over time.

**Where Trips Analytics appears**

Trips Analytics is available within **Market Analysis** and can be accessed in two main ways:

- The **Trips** tab in Market Analysis
- **Map View**, when Trips metrics are selected in the map layers panel

Both views reflect the same underlying trips data and respond to the same date and comparison controls.

**Market Trips map**

The Trips map provides a spatial view of trips performance across markets.

When Trips is selected as the dataset in Map View, each market is visually encoded based on a selected trips metric, such as total trips or trips growth.

- Markets are coloured using a consistent scale to reflect relative trips performance
- Colour scales adjust based on the selected metric
- Hovering over a market reveals the market name and trips value
- Legends update dynamically to explain colours, ranges, and metrics

This view makes it easy to spot high- and low-performing markets, identify regional patterns in driving activity, and compare markets at a glance.

**Market Trips time series**

The Trips time series graph shows how trips performance evolves over time for one or more markets.

The graph displays trips metrics for the selected market context and supports standard analytics controls, including date range, comparison period, and time aggregation.

The graph updates immediately when any of these controls change, allowing users to track trends such as growth, decline, or seasonality and compare multiple markets on the same timeline.

**How the views work together**

Trips Analytics is designed as a connected experience.

- The map view shows where trips performance is strong or weak
- The time series graph shows how that performance changes over time

Users often start with the map to identify interesting markets, then use the graph to understand what is happening over time in those markets.

Trips Analytics provides a view into real-world movement patterns, helping teams understand how accessible or active different markets are, compare markets based on travel behaviour, and put other performance signals into broader mobility context.
