How Store Groups Reveal Performance Trends
To discover what's actually driving or impeding performance, you need to go beyond the top-line figures — that's where Store Groups comes in.
When to use this
Store Groups gives you the ability to filter or refine your analysis down to a subset of your locations. Use it when you're managing a specific group of locations, or when you want to see how a particular group is behaving — breaking your overall brand down into smaller, more meaningful subsets.
How it works
You can build a group two ways:
- Select stores one by one, using the Store ID or name (if you've matched your store data) or street address (if you haven't).
- Group by an attribute — like site type or geography.
If you've gone through store matching, this gets even more powerful — any additional fields you've sent us become available here too, alongside our universal fields, so you can group by whatever's meaningful to your business.
You can apply a group instantly as a quick filter straight from the Store Group button. But if it's something you'll want to come back to, save it instead — give it a name, and choose whether it stays private to your account or gets shared with your whole team.
Why it matters
It determines which locations are included in brand-level insights — so the group isn't just a label, it's the group of locations your visits, visitors, or trade area data is filtered to. And it sets the range of data visible in views like the matrix, meaning the group you build here is the foundation everything downstream is built on, not just another filter applied on top.
Getting started
Look for the Store Group button to build your first group — quick filter it for a one-off look, or save it if it's something you'll return to.
